The Red Hill Reserve Committee is calling for volunteers to help with the maintenance and management of the Conservation Reserve.
The Reserve sits on the eastern edge of Boorowa and contains a sample of White Box, Yellow, Box Blakely’s Red Gum Grassy Woodland (Box-Gum Grassy Woodland). This is an endangered ecological community (EEC) listed under the NSW Threatened Species Conservation Act, 1995 and is also considered as a critically endangered ecological community under the Australian Government’s EPBC Act, 1999.
Volunteers manage the Reserve to preserve its conservation and biodiversity values, as well as enhancing it as a habitat for threatened species such as the Superb parrot under a section 355 committee of Hilltops Council.
“The reserve needs your help. Volunteers are needed to assist with the regular maintenance of the reserve such as mowing and weeding, as well as other projects such as regular fauna and flora surveys to see what animals and plants are occurring in the Reserve,” Committee member Pat Downey said.
“We also need more Committee members to assist with the strategic management of the Reserve. In addition to the management of the site, help is needed with the management of site improvement projects, reporting, funding applications and social media management.”
