Despite stalls being cancelled, there’s still lots of ways to support the Daffodil Day Appeal.

Cancer Council is calling on the community to show its ‘flower power’ this Daffodil Day Appeal, with the current COVID-19 outbreak forcing the charity to cancel its usual fresh daffodil stalls.

Now in its 35th year, the Daffodil Day Appeal is Cancer Council’s most iconic fundraising campaign.

Daffodil Day falls on Friday 27 August, but you can get involved any time throughout the month.

Christine Williams, Community Relations Coordinator at Cancer Council’s Wagga Wagga office said the beloved event would look a little different this year.

“For many of us, Daffodil Day means purchasing a beautiful bunch of fresh daffodils from a Cancer Council flagship stall to help fund world-class cancer research and show our support for people affected by cancer,” she said.

“Sadly, the current COVID-19 outbreak in NSW means that we can’t be out in the community this year.

There are three key ways that communities can still support Daffodil Day this year.”

Make an online donation or register as a Yellow Fundraiser at www.daffodilday.com.au or join the charity’s Game for Good campaign via the Cancer Council website.

Ms Williams said all funds raised through Daffodil Day support world-class cancer research, helping improve outcomes for people affected by cancer. To register your fundraiser or donate, visit daffodilday.com.au or call 1300 65 65 85.
