You are invited to attend an informative beef cattle evening organized by Angus NSW.

Mr Dick Whale a beef industry genetics consultant from Wangaratta has been asked to coordinate the evening which will be a discussion on; "Selecting The Next Generation of Profitable Cattle." The matters to be discussed will be Future Breeding Strategies, Heifer Selection, Breed Trait Desirability Selection tier 1 & 2 preferences.

Industry preference may not be influenced by the next “hot” bull.

The co-ordinator, Mr Dick Whale started his career as Manager of Research Herd at the Department of Agriculture, Trangie which ran 400 cows.

In 1985 Dick won the National Judging Competition which gave him a scholarship to attend the University of Illinois where he studied Meat Science.

He joined the ICM Feed Lot as Livestock Manager where he stayed for 11 years.

The feed lot when he arrived consisted of 1400 cattle and after his first year contained 27,000 head. When he left, the company had 44, 000 cattle on feed. Dick handled and assessed every animal during his time there.

In 1997 Dick joined Elders as the Value Based Marketing Manager until in 2004 when he started his current business as Genetics Consultant to the Beef Industry.
