The conditions for bowls last Thursday were quite good with more sunshine than clouds even though jackets were still needed.
Twenty–two players took advantage of the fine conditions to enjoy an afternoon of bowls.
Most games were close at the half-way mark but the final scores saw some quite big margins.
The vouchers were taken out by Albert Carter and Les Fanning who had the biggest margin of 27 shots.
In other games Andrew Hutchison and Cliff Traynor won by 19 shots and Brian Christie and Denis Rosen won by 16 shots.
The two closest games saw Alan Gall and Harold Anderson win by 6 shots and Michel Alavoine, Tony Ruhl and Joe Bargwanna win by 3 shots.
Unfortunately the weather conditions for Saturday and Sunday meant that no games were played.
The preliminary round of the BPL Cup that was to be played on Sunday did not get started and has been rescheduled for this Saturday. The club will open at 9.45 am with the first games to start at 10.00 am.
The final of the Club Singles will also be played on Saturday afternoon. This should be a good game with Geoff Holt playing Damien Miller.
