Once again the rain has curtailed the planned bowls activity for Young with Thursday the only day during the past week on which play took place.
Fourteen players took part on Thursday afternoon with the conditions varying from sunny and pleasant to cloudy and quite cool.
Three games were completed with all having close finishes.
The triples team of Andrew Hutchison, Brian Christie and Bob Ruhl claimed the vouchers with the highest winning margin of 7 shots.
In the other games Albert Carter and Colin Powell had a win by 4 shots and Terry Holmes and Cliff Traynor scored 2 shots on the final end to have a winning margin of 2 shots.
Unfortunately there was no play on Saturday nor for the games planned for another Sunday Funday.
This Sunday 25th July the club will host a preliminary round of the BPL Cup. This is an Australia wide competition and players are reminded that they are to wear club uniforms.
The club will open at 9.45 am with the first games to start at 10.00 am.
