Congratulations to Damien Miller and David Quigley on winning the Club Pairs Championship on Saturday afternoon.
They defeated John Cooper and Peter Watts 28–13 in the final.
This is Damien and David’s fourth consecutive win for this event – a testimony to their skill and the consistency of their play.
The outcome of the final was probably decided in the first 8 ends when they established a 15–1 lead.
During that phase the winners played consistently well and nothing worked for John and Peter.
Despite the rather cold conditions there were 12 other players involved on Saturday.
All three games ended up with fairly small margins.
Darryle Miller and Les Fanning won the vouchers for the day with a margin of 8 shots.
Jeff Jacquier and Tom Preston won their game by 6 shots after being just 1 shot ahead after 16 ends.
In similar fashion Alan Gall and Joe Bargwanna won their game by 3 shots after the scores were level with 4 ends to play.
Unfortunately there was no play on Thursday afternoon with the greens closed due to the consistent wet weather.
Players are advised to check the notice board for details of events scheduled to be played over the next few weeks.
Intending players are advised that there has been a change to the dates for the Club Triples Championship.
Another preliminary round of the BPL Cup will be played on Sunday with play to start at 10.00 am. At the time of writing six teams have entered.
A group of visiting players from Lithgow are booked in to be at the club on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th September. The current arrangements are for them to play on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.
