Congratulations Dorothy. You join a small group of other Young Auxiliary members who have been awarded UHA NSW Life Membership - Caroline Marshall in 1959, Pru Lindsay in 1996, and Chris Page in 2016. What an inspiration they have all been.
The UHA was formed in 1933, and through local branches, have been responding to the needs of community health facilities throughout NSW.
There are 190 branches across 12 regions of NSW, who raise funds autonomously for their local Health Service for the benefit of patient comfort and care.
Amongst the objectives of the charity is to assist the welfare of patients and staff at all hospitals and health care centres by providing all kinds of services to those hospitals and to assist in fundraising.
Fundraising includes donation, fetes, cafes, gift shops and kiosks, raffles, street stalls, bingo, book fairs and a range of other events and facilities.
All the funds that are raised by the Young branch are used locally.
