Hilltops residents are being encouraged to highlight the fantastic work women in their personal and professional lives are doing with nominations for the 2020 NSW Women of the Year Awards now open.
Minister for Women Bronwyn Taylor said the Awards, which will celebrate their ninth year in 2020, recognise women who have demonstrated excellence in business and society or made outstanding contributions to their community. “I urge everyone to submit a nomination and recognise the many brilliant women and young women who are achieving so much in their fields in NSW and making our communities stronger,” Ms Taylor said.
“Women from all walks of life make significant contributions to their communities while overcoming gender inequality, raising families and pursuing careers in male-dominated fields. This is your chance to recognise these women and let them know their hard work does not go unnoticed.”
Women can be nominated in seven award categories:
- NSW Premier’s Award Woman of the Year
- NSW Aboriginal Woman of the Year
- Community Hero Award
- Rex Airlines Regional Woman of the Year Award
- Harvey Norman Young Woman of the Year Award
- NSW Business Woman of the Year Award
- First State Super Lifetime Achievement Award
Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke is encouraging residents to highlight the brilliant women in their lives with a nomination.
“So many women pour their heart and soul into their careers, families and volunteer work, strengthening and enriching our community,” Ms Cooke said.
“These women are inspiring role models for all young women and girls in the Cootamundra electorate and it’s time we show them that they are appreciated. I urge everybody to spend a few minutes on a nomination and let the women in their lives know they are valued.”
