The Harden Murrumburrah Arts Council will be hosting introduction to blacksmith workshops over the next two weekends.
The introductory workshop will cover the basic techniques, allowing participants to start creating their own pieces. The workshop is designed for beginners and will provide an opportunity to make a start on a simple project that can be taken home at the end of the day.
Attendees will start turning square into round stock, isolating and drawing out material and creating a simple twist.
Tickets are $150 for the one day workshop. Some materials will be required, including closed footwear (steel caps ideally), safety glasses, gloves, water bottle and packed lunch or money to purchase lunch at nearby café.
The workshops will run from 9.30am to 3pm on Saturday the 14th and 21st
of March.
All enquiries regarding the workshop content can be directed to Will Kilpatrick on 0457 845 869. Reservations or enquiries regarding available dates can be made by contacting Nicole Scott on 0427 864 320 or emailing hmarts.org@gmail.com
