Harden locals honoured with medals of the Order of Australia

Two Harden locals were named on the Queen’s Birthday 2019 Honours List and honoured with medals of the Order of Australia (OAM).

Nicole Bolger received a medal of the Order of Australia for service to nursing. Nicole was instrumental in the formation of CanAssist Harden and is a current Committee member. She job shares the Community Care Nurse role, visiting patients and uplifting them with her humour. Nicole’s other awards include Local Australia Day Citizen of the Year and Local Inspirational Woman of the Year.

Nic Nadycz received a medal of the Order of Australia for service to the community of Harden-Murrumburrah. Nic recently retired from the Harden Fire Brigade after 40 years of service. Monica O’Connor from CanAssist Harden calls Nic ‘The Quiet Achiever’ and says, “He’s the guy you call on when you want something done and done well.” Nic’s other achievements include Australia Day Citizenship of the Year Award, Long Service and Good Conduct Medal and finalist in the Volunteer of the Year Award.
