Young Public School is among 28 schools across the Cootamundra electorate set to receive new and improved facilities as part of the NSW Government’s $120 million Regional Renewal Program.

Since the announcement of the Regional Renewal Program in October last year, schools have been invited to apply for renewal projects to improve their school facilities.

Successful projects in Tranche 1 across the Cootamundra electorate range from playground upgrades to new amenities, funded through $2,388,861.82 from the program.

Funded projects in Tranche 2 will be announced shortly.

The Regional Renewal Program will provide a government co-contribution of between 50 to 80 per cent for school infrastructure improvements to high priority schools in regional NSW. Projects may include new and upgraded covered outdoor learning areas, science facilities, toilet blocks, administration buildings and canteens.

Young Public School’s successful project is the building of storage facilities.

The NSW Government is investing $7 billion over the next four years, continuing its program to deliver more than 200 new and upgraded schools to support communities across NSW. This is the largest investment in public education infrastructure in the history of NSW.
