Hilltops Council is set to receive over $500,000 in road safety funding from a joint infrastructure investment from the NSW and Australian Governments.

The intersection at Frogmore Road and Little Plains Road, Frogmore and the intersection of Frogmore Road and Ironbark Lane, Frogmore will receive $244,242 for pavement rehabilitation.

The intersection of Grassy Creek Road and Little Plains Road and the intersection of Grassy Creek Road and Maryvale Road will receive $216,365 for pavement rehabilitation.

A 1.2km stretch of road between Kenny’s Creek Road and Rye Park Road will receive $116,156 for reshaping and sealing.

Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor said the funding injection would unlock thousands of jobs across NSW and give an immediate boost to the economy right when its needed. “This funding is about delivering local road and infrastructure projects that can make a big difference to local communities – projects that will drive valuable jobs in our region over the next 12 months,” Mr Taylor said.

“Local infrastructure investment is critical for residents and business owners in Hilltops right now, as we recover from the economic effects of the pandemic. Funding for road upgrades will mean more local construction jobs, new opportunities for businesses and it will provide Council with the funding to upgrade priority road projects in this area, to ensure people get to where they need to be sooner and safer.”
