Harden CWA would like to invite members of the public to their Friendly Fridays, which will be held on the first Friday of the month from next Friday.
The association’s co-op shop will be reopening on this day, after the current COVID Stay At Home orders lifts.
Harden CWA Secretary Ros Bickford said the aim of Friendly Fridays is to share the association more with the community.
She said everyone is welcome to come along. All visitors receive a free Devonshire tea and a cup of tea or coffee.
“It was an idea put together recently to invite more women to come and find out more about the CWA,” Ros said.
“People new in town or those who are widowed can have a space for friendship.”
The group managed to hold one session before the Stay At Home orders came into place.
Ros said it was very popular.
“People didn’t even know that the CWA was here,” she said.
The shop will be restocked with lots of lovely treats for sale. Goodies include custard tarts, lemon meringue pies, homemade soups, homemade jams and chutneys, cakes and a large variety of slices, with gluten-free options also available.
There is a range of lovely warm beanies, scarves and blankets and much, much more.
The co-op shop will be open Friday and Saturday from 9am to 1pm. Friendly Fridays will be from 10am to 12pm. Come along to the CWA Hall, cnr Neill and Stair Street.
