Construction at the site of the Murrumburrah Harden Health Service facility is now complete.
The state of the art facility maintains its current 33 bed total and offers emergency care, acute inpatient, integrated primary and community health, ambulatory care and residential aged care.
Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke, along with representatives from the Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD), Health Infrastructure, Hilltops Council, LHAC and members of the Harden-Murrumburrah community toured the new facility last week.
“This fantastic new facility will be an asset to the Harden-Murrumburrah community and will ensure they can receive many types of healthcare in a modern and fit for purpose environment,” Ms Cooke said. “Seeing the excitement of community members, particularly at the home-like design of the residential aged care areas, is such a testament to how welcome this new medical service is.”
“The Harden Murrumburrah Hospital Auxiliary have been instrumental in this and it was a real joy to be able to be with them as they toured this facility. I also want to congratulate the MLHD, Health Infrastructure and everyone involved in this project.”
MLHD is undertaking operational commissioning of the building, before the facility’s doors open to the public in August.
The final steps in the project include completion of the landscaping, construction of three new staff accommodation units and the demolition of the old hospital buildings.
The project is expected to be completed in 2021.
