Amanda Ingall has been involved in organising safe Halloween trick or treating in Boorowa since 2016.
For the second year, those who want visitors will hang balloons.
“I wanted my child to be able to enjoy the spirit of trick or treating on Halloween but in a safe and positive environment. In order to do this I needed like-minded locals to put their hands up to participate and provide addresses where children could knock and get a treat,” she said.
“Fortunately there were a lot of families who wanted to get involved. It really is a great family event, it gets them dressed up and interacting with the wider community. It is also great exercise for those out walking. The smiles on everyone’s faces makes my job worthwhile.”
If you want to trick or treat with your children, Amanda asks for you to also provide treats for others. There are three options: offer an address where children can knock and receive a treat from you (must be able to social distance); provide an address where you can leave your treats out so kids can help themselves using an honesty system; or carry your treats with the balloons attached to your buckets while out trick or treating yourself.
If you would like to participate, contact Amanda via the Facebook page ‘Boorowa – Halloween Participants’ before Friday October 29.
A map will be published with a list of addresses either the night before or Halloween morning.
