The NSW Seniors Festival is the largest festival for seniors in the Southern Hemisphere, reaching up to 500,000 people across NSW each year.
If you are over 60, NSW Seniors Festival gives you the chance to make new friends or get together with old ones at an array of local community programs, many which are free or heavily discounted.
Every year during the NSW Seniors Festival, government, community and commercial organisations hold hundreds of events across the state, encompassing art, sport, music, entertainment, technology, recreation, health, good nutrition and much more.
As part of the NSW Seniors Festival, there is an opportunity to acknowledge valued seniors in the community.
The Hilltops community has many valued seniors who work tirelessly across the community at large, assisting the region to thrive, and locals are encouraged to nominate for the NSW Seniors Festival Local Achievement Awards.
Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke said the awards program celebrates the work and achievements of seniors who make us proud every day.
“Seniors go above and beyond for our community as volunteers, carers and role models in a challenging year where our State has faced bushfire, flood, drought and a health pandemic,” Ms Cooke said.
“If you know a senior who helps make our community a better place to live, then I encourage you to nominate them.”
Nominations close at 5pm on Friday, 26th March 2021 as part of an exciting schedule of events across the state for the 2021 NSW Seniors Festival, which the theme for this year is: “In Our Nature”.
Winners of the Local Achievement Awards will be announced during the NSW Seniors Festival which runs from 13 – 24 April 2021.
