Harden Country Club and Table and Delights recently hosted a Casino Royale Black Tie event to raise money for two local charities.
The Harden Country Club underwent a makeover for the night, with three casino tables and professional croupiers brought in from Sydney for the event. The Club was decked out with casino style decorations to add to the ambience and antique furniture was on loan for the night.
A photo booth was set up and photos are still available for purchase, with all profits from the photo sales going to the charities.
The auction was run by Charlie Butt, auctioning off an array of great prizes donated by local businesses.
Organiser Dominika Longbottom said the idea for the event formed as she wanted to create a fun night for the community while raising money for charities who were unable to do so during the last year. “I really wanted to organize something extraordinary for our community after the COVID year. After so many months of not being able to celebrate and even get together, we thought the Black Tie event will be a good change for everyone.”
The night raised $15, 581, which was divided equally between the Harden District Education Foundation and Murrumburrah-Harden Flexible Care Services.
Murrumburrah-Harden Flexible Care Services will use the money to support their work with the vulnerable, frail-aged and disadvantaged people of the Harden community and the excursion program.
The Harden District Education Foundation will use the money to assist students going on to tertiary education and apprenticeships.
