The Burrangong Picnic Races are ready to light up the track this Saturday, October 12.
There will be a 6 race program starting from 1.15pm, highlighted by the Burrangong Picnic Cup over 1400m.
The popular Fashions on the Field will be held between races 3 and 4 and includes Best Dressed Boy and Girl, Best Dressed Couple and Most Outstanding Millinery. There will also be a Jockeys Challenge for Most Successful Jockey on the day.
Free buses will run from the Australian Hotel from 11.45am with a donation bucket onboard raising money for a defibrillator unit at the racecourse.
Lions will be running a full canteen all day and there will be full bar facilities with no BYO or glass. Amusement rides, face painting and Mr Whippy will be available for the kids.
Burrangong Picnic Race Club President Tom Wills encouraged everyone to come out and enjoy the day. “It will be a glorious spring day, so get out to the races with your friends and family and enjoy a day out. It is a great community event which is always well supported. Our committee has put days into getting this one day a year event ready for the whole community to enjoy. We will be unveiling the new disabled access toilet - thanks to Dawe2Door and Paul Gembles Plumbing for their hard work in getting it ready.”
Kaktus Alley will be playing at the after party from 5pm.
The races will be a cash only event with no eftpos available.
