On Saturday, Boorowa Gun Club will hold their first competition shoot since the coronavirus pandemic forced the cancellation of shoots in March.
Eddie Cummings from Boorowa Gun Club said, “The Boorowa Gun Club will resume competition shoots from Saturday 24 October 2020. The Club will welcome back old and new friends alike. The decision to reopen for competition was taken after consultation with the State governing body, the NSW Clay Target Association and also after consultation with the Hilltops Council. The Club has in place a COVID-19 safety management plan, which has enabled competitions to resume. With the warmer weather now upon us, we expect to see more people out and about.”
Although competition has resumed, it will look a little different.
“The unfortunate side effect of the new safety management plan is that for the foreseeable future, there will be no refreshments available at the Club. The first competition since the COVID-19 lockdowns is a 150 target day with three events run throughout the day. The Club has also reopened for practice sessions on Tuesday nights from 4.00pm till 7.00pm,” said Eddie.
The day will kick off at 11am, with a 50 target handicap, event 2 is a 50 target point score and event 3 is a 50 target single barrel event. All three events will be shot in one visit to the layouts and will be shot five targets per lane.
Those who have been in a designated COVID-19 hotspot or are unwell are asked not to attend the shoot.
