Boorowa Community Landcare Group (BCLG) is bringing the popular 2 day Soils Bootcamp with agroecologist David Hardwick to the district on the last two days in June.
Through Boorowa Landcare’s Grazing Group Smart Farms Grant and thanks to a subsidy from the Australian Government National Landcare Program, the course will be held at the Frogmore Hall on Tuesday the 29th and Wednesday the 30th of June.
David has been doing soil and regenerative agriculture extension, training and consulting all over Australia for over 20 years. The course will explore the essentials of soils, soil health and soil fertility in the paddock and provide a practical hands-on experience in soil management.
“This course will deepen your understanding of how soils work and build your confidence to manage your own soils well. It is suitable for anyone on the land including graziers, cropping, horticulture and small landholders,” said Linda Cavanagh, BCLG coordinator.
To get the most out of the day, participants are asked to bring a 20cm tube of soil from your place as well as a soil test if you have one.
Places are limited to 30 participants and the cost of $50 per head for the 2 days is only to cover catering costs. Participants can indicate dietary requirements when booking.
