Know a young person who is a passionate advocate for their community? Now’s the time to nominate them for the 2021 NSW Youth Advisory Council.
Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke has today called on all young community leaders across the Cootamundra electorate to apply for the 12-member Council, which provides advice to the NSW Government on the issues affecting young people.
Ms Cooke said the Council was a fantastic opportunity for the electorate’s youth.
“This is a chance for the amazing young advocates in our communities to have their say on the issues that matter to them, and get their views heard by government,” Ms Cooke said.
“We need passionate young people to be part of this wonderful initiative and help shape the decisions that impact the youth of NSW.”
“In many of our communities we have active and engaged youth councils advising local government, this is an opportunity to take the next step and do this at a state level.”
“This is a platform where you can share your experiences and your vision for the future. We need regional voices on this Council to ensure our communities are thriving places to live, work and study for young people.”
“I encourage everyone aged between 12 and 24 to visit the Advocate for Children and Young People website to find out more about how to apply.”
Applications are open until Friday 12 March. For more information and to apply, visit https://www.acyp.nsw.gov.au/.
